Definitions in relation to all sales of goods and services

“Seller”, “We”, “Us” refers to House and Contract Limited;

“Buyer”, “You” refers to the person or organisation who buys Goods from the Seller; 

“Goods” refers to the articles supplied to the Buyer by the Seller;

Purchase of Goods

 

Trade Access Accounts

House and Contract only supply to trade.  To open a trade access account please complete the trade application form found on our website or by requesting an account opening form and supply all information as required, this includes a VAT No. and trade references. 

We reserve the right to refuse applications that do not meet our requirements.

All trade accounts are reviewed periodically and you will be notified if your account is to be closed.

 

Payment

House and Contract accept payment by debit card, credit card, bank transfer and cheque. If paying by cheque your order will be confirmed on receipt of cleared funds.  Payments made by cash will incurr a 2% handling charge.

All goods are sold on a proforma basis with full cleared payment required before production commences and goods are despatch, unless otherwise agreed in writing by House and Contract.

 

Pricing

Prices shown are exclusive VAT.  VAT will be added to your proforma and invoice.

House and Contract reserve the right to amend prices without prior notice.

 

Trade Delivery Charges

As a trade wholesaler the minimum order for delivery is £800.00 exclusive of VAT.

We deliver worldwide and can provide details on request.  Delivery charges to mainland England and Wales is free.


Delivery charges to the Highlands, Ireland and outside of the UK can be provided on request.

 

Trade Delivery

Free delivery to mainland UK excluding the Highlands.

We offer trade delivery as standard and the Goods will be delivered to your warehouse / site.  The delivery driver will be unaccompanied and may require assistance to unload.  Please note the driver and House and Contract are under no obligation to deliver the Goods inside your property or to your client or other third party.

We will contact you 5-7 days prior to delivery to confirm the date.  As we operate a multi-drop facility it is not always possible to confirm the time, however, we aim to supply an am or pm delivery slot and fit in around you as much as possible.

Time of delivery is not of the essence in this Agreement for the Sale of Goods.  House and Contract accept no liability for any direct or indirect loss of profits or other financial loss or damage incurred by you through any delay due to unforeseen circumstances outside our control or due to any reasonable rescheduling of your delivery.

The standard delivery vehicles are 45 foot articulated trucks and require adequate space to park and manoeuvre to facilitate easy delivery to your premises.

If a pre-arranged delivery cannot be made due to non payment, non attendance, parking or road restrictions not advised by the Buyer, a charge of 10% of the net order value will be levied for the aborted delivery.

House and Contract will not be liable for any damage to property, fixtures or fittings during, or after the delivery of product to a customer’s premises. It is the responsibility of the recipient to ensure that there is sufficient access to enable us to safely deliver goods to their establishments and assist the driver in off loading.

 

Two Man Delivery
 

A two man delivery service can easily be arranged on your behalf if required, please contact the office for pricing. 

 

Product Information

House and Contract aim to provide as accurate information as possible.  All measurements are approximate.

Fabric and leather as natural products may have a very slight colour or with leather, texture variation from sample to finished product due to changes in batches. We cannot accept returns based on these slight variations.

Wood as a natural material may also vary in colour and texture and we cannot accept returns based on slight variations in wood finish.  Although overall quality is not affected, this is an inherent part of our stockholding and should be viewed as such. We cannot accept returns based on these slight variations. 

House and Contract may amend slightly the style or design of products to enhance their aesthetic appearance and/or durability. We reserve the right to make slight amendments without notice and we cannot accept returns based on these variations.

 

Returns and Refunds on Faulty Items

The Buyer is required to inspect the goods and report in writing and with photographic evidence any faulty or damaged items within 48 hours of delivery.  House and Contract can be reached on email: info@houseandcontract.com or fax: 020 7084 0397.

After this time we will accept no responsibility.

Faulty items or items damaged by our delivery company will be replaced or refunded at the request of the customer.

House and Contract will only accept returns on faulty / damaged items delivered by our delivery company.  We are unable to accept returns on item delivered or damaged by third party carriers or couriers. 

Goods cannot be accepted for return without the prior written agreement of House and Contract.

We are unable to accept returns on bespoke items unless found to be faulty.  “Bespoke” refers to any standard product customised by the Customer i.e.  Custom size product, Custom design, Customer’s own material.
 


Returns and Refunds

House and Contract may at their discretion choose to accept as a return non faulty items no longer required by the customer.  This is subject to the customer returning the goods at their own cost to House and Contract's warehouse and upon inspection of the items if deemed to be in a resaleable condition House and Contract may levy a restocking charge of 15% to accept the items. 

Goods must be returned in original undamaged and unmarked packing and in a saleable condition. 

House and Contract will inspect all returned goods and once accepted as returned will issue a credit note. 

We reserve the right to reject any piece that we deem not to be in good saleable condition.

 

Cancellations

Cancellations can be made up to 72 hours after payment has been made and are to be in writing to email: info@houseandcontract.com or fax: 020 7084 0397. 

House and Contract reserve the right to cancel or discontinue any models at any time due to a manufacturing issue.  Full refunds will be provided in this instance.
 

Internet Sales

Images from the House and Contract website are not to be used without written consent from House and Contract Ltd.  We do not permit any sales of our products on Ebay or other auction websites. 

 

Applicable Law

The above terms and conditions of trading are in accordance with the laws of England & Wales.
